- There are over 500 rose bushes adorning the streets of the Estate;
- Duiker, porcupine, Cape grey mongoose, scrub hare, Cape ground squirrels and Cape clawless otter roam free on the Estate;
- Val de Vie Estate, in conjunction with Cape Nature, established a 3-hectare wildlife reserve area that is home to a herd of springbok, zebra and Cape grysbok;
- More than 175 bird species inhabit the Estate, including spotted eagle owl and a pair of fish eagle;
- There are twenty lakes and large waterways (some previously used as quarries) now rich with fish, geese, freshwater crabs and small amphibians;
